Meeting growing demands of customers, communities and regulatory agencies
At P2S, we have worked with numerous telecom firms, and we apply this experience to the unique challenges faced by the these entities.
Our engineering teams design innovative asset recovery strategies for infrastructure upgrades. Plus, we leverage our experience and skills to develop sustainable, alternative solutions that increase efficiencies and lower costs.
For example, our Technology Group has been working on an extensive multi-state asset recovery program for a large telecommunications utility company. The two-year project involved engineering the identification and transfer of cable pairs in low-usage copper cables to fiber circuits. Then, we designed operating procedures for the removal of these inter-central office underground copper cables. This not only recovered millions of dollars in copper cables, but also resulted in substantial ad valorem tax savings. Recently, we have been identifying local phone service copper cables that are high maintenance due to leaks in the air pressure system. By identifying the pairs that need to be moved to another cable, high maintenance cables are vacated and removed.
