Making a difference by nurturing the environment and the people local communities
At P2S our primary focus is people—our clients, our employees and our communities. We believe that investing in people and relationships is how to create extraordinary environments and do extraordinary work.
It is this integrity toward clients and employees that has earned P2S recognition for above-average client and employee satisfaction and that is why we lead the industry in both client and employee retention.
Nurturing Young Leaders
We share our passion for engineering by mentoring young leaders in professional development programs such as the ACE Mentor Program, Jordan High School mentoring program, and the City of Long Beach Job Shadow program. P2S partners with these organizations to mentor high school students interested in the architectural, construction management and engineering industries. These mentoring programs provide a wonderful opportunity for community involvement as well as investing in the future of young people and prospective employees.
Founded in 1994 by principals of leading design and construction firms, the Architecture, Construction, and Engineering (ACE) Mentor Program is a national organization whose mission is to introduce and excite high school students to career opportunities in the integrated construction industry. Partners in Sustainability | Environmental Stewardship
We share our community’s commitment to the environment and strive to build and promote a sustainable environment through practice and education. By contributing to unique programs such as the Center for Energy and Environmental Research and Services (CEERS) at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), P2S is focused on fostering local leaders in sustainability.
P2S has been recognized with the Environmental Leadership Award from the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce. P2S principals and engineers serve on the CSULB Engineering Advisory Council and on the board of the Community Hospital of Long Beach.
Even more, P2S promotes sustainability and host educational opportunities through active participation in the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) where it is a founding member of the USGBC-Long Beach Chapter. To learn more about USGBC, visit www.usgbc.org.
Professional Leaders in our Community
We believe to inspire change and make a difference in the built environment means participating and active involvement in the communities we live and work. Our employees are active in professional associations and are leaders in sustainable design. We actively promote green engineering practices internationally and take leadership roles in developing and writing international standards, such as Standard 189.1 (Standard for the Design of High-Performance Green Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings). In addition, we are active members and volunteers for various associations such as AEE, ACEC, ASHRAE and more.
Commitment to Philanthropy
We strive to give back to the community where we work and build our lives. We support and organize volunteer opportunities for staff and partner with local community service organizations to grant funds, donate toys and school supplies, host food drives and judge school-related projects—all in the spirit of giving and indicative to our commitment of being a socially responsible company.
